Anyway, on a more serious note...

Exams is around the corner!!! (or already in the midst of exams for many)

I only have my korean exam on wednesday which i have totally not touched yet =x

Dont ask me what have i been doing cos i'm not too sure myself =p

Between watching "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER", sleeping, eating and suddenly feeling the urge to blog.. i think i was busy... blowing my nose and drinking water =x (yup, i'm down with flu)

haha but i did managed to drag myself out the cosy room #258 door and went on a short dinner/noraebang trip... which ended up being not so short, as always =D

Navi Tan brought us to his fav Tak Galbi restaurant to eat

Too bad i had alr eaten alr so i just sat there and kope a few pieces to eat =p haha actually it was not bad! There's alot of meat and alot of cheese! The meat is really nice and the rice cakes come in stars, heart shapes and had CHEESE inside!!

I guess the only downside is the price ba.. for my table, each person had to pay ard 10k for the dinner! normally west gate can find things which cost half the price and taste just as gd...

We bought some bread from paris bagurette (spelling to be confirmed later)

super nice bread selling inside!! I tried the mocha bread, egg tart (unique taste!) and blueberry bread so far! all v nice! only the little mocha ball one i bought previously didnt turn out great cos i think i left it out too long and it softened )))):

Anyway, the usual noraebang sil they all went was closed

(dunno y so many shops r closed on sunday)

so We went to this somewhat sleezy looking place call BANG BANG NORAEBANG

if we had any doubts abt the place, it was gone the moment the first song starts playing (:

well, at least for me la, cos this is only my 3rd noraebang experience so far..

i tot the disco lights are really cool and the wireless mics are pretty UPZ =p

Phyllis even found her fav song inside, which she didnt managed to in alot of other places!

anyway, some of the others like chee yen, jisin, jiun tat, sil and peiyi r really zai la

so fast familiarized with the korean pop songs

and can sing really well without any nd for the real artists' voice!

Gosh....

been TWO YEARS SINCE I LAST BLOGGED!!

haha, i guess facebook really took over my life

and things starts becoming recorded in fb statues and pics liao

haha, but now tt i'm back (and hopefully not to dissappear so soon)

I wanna record down the things tt happened in korea from my own memory and in my own words down (:

(yup, ignore the fact that it has already been 2 months since i came korea heheh)

well, in case future me doesnt understand whats happening and happens to rd this blog, i shall recap the things that happened

i cld simply copy and paste my email to my aunt describing my life in korea (:

Wk2:

I've settled nicely in Kaist, Areum Hall already (: My roomie is this really nice girl call Keum Sil. She is a Chinese korean and inititally i didnt know so we had some awkward conversations in English. But after finding out she speaks chinese, it has been our main choice of communication (: The International relations team (IRT) here is really friendly and do their best to help exchange students so settling down here is made easier. I got to know alot of other exchange students through their orientation programs and became especially close to fellow NUS exchange students ( there were 6 other nus students on exchange here) so we went to Seoul together on the first weekends .

At the start of the Seoul trip, there was some miscommunication and we got separated into 2 groups on the first day but we managed to meet up on the 2nd day and travel safely back to my school KAIST together (: My group consisted of Me, Silvia, Phyllis and Jiun Tat. It was a good thing we split the 2 guys up into each group but after this we are going to make sure we all had a hp with each group. Anyway, we went to Cheongpyeong for their winter festival and tried their winter fishing (the pic i'm with a hole, no success ):), then we went to Dongdaemun for some night shopping before sleeping in a bath house. The bath hse was a real culture shock as the people were all naked but otherwise, it was a good and cheap place to sleep and relax. Next day we meet up with the others and went to Myeongdong (did more shopping ) before heading back haha (: Must say the transport to seoul is pretty expensive, costing S$20+ to and fro.

Korea also celebrates CNY but during those 2 days, all the shops are closed (even the eateries and rubbish bins!). Luckily for exchange students, there was a pizza place in KAIST call DDDN pizza and the IRT asked the shopkeeper to provide free pizza for our lunch and dinner. So on the first day of CNY, we simply spent it waiting for our free pizza LOL! We also tried a bar nearby KAIST tt night and an Indian guy, DAS drank too much and vomited. 2nd day of CNY was spent at Kumdori land which is a theme park and then went to a cheap Singapore Noraebang (KTV) near the bar we went the previous night. Kumdori land was only S$12 thanks to the IRT people and there was free dinner (: I only tried the Viking ship and a few other kiddie rides tho.. I was too majorly scared out of my wits after the viking LOL! i think i'm really getting old =X 13 people went for the noraebang and each only paid S$1+ for 2 hours (: However it was really hard to select songs as they are all arranged according to their song titles instead of singer.. and their MVs were all fake.. they use movie/drama scenes instead (mayb that's y it's so cheap). 3rd day, we had BBQ outside KAIST. The pork is really v nice!! 4th day, we simply shopped at homeplus (a place like sg Giant). Rather uneventful n different CNY i must say =X

but e tutors were really great

and the pace of the movie is too fast lor, i can hardly digest the developments

anyway, lazy to type
hehe, but i did my geog reflections
so here it is!

Day 1
First stop was the Kota Tinggi Waterfall.
Frankly, i've never seen a waterfall in life before,
but i've seen quite alot from dramas based in China!
I was expecting large waterfalls,
so i was pretty disappointed in the Kota Tinggi Waterfall
which was only 1/3 of the size i had envisaged..
Mrs Koh went through with us the processes and the landforms of the
waterfall.
We climbed to the tip of the waterfall where on the way,
we saw a REALLY BIG ant!
Biggest ant i've ever seen!
Now I know small waterfalls also can breed big ants!
rapids were disappointing too!
They're really very small and not very fast flowing..
On the way also went through the lichens and mosses growing on the rocks.
The lichens had always look like bird shit to me but now I know better (:
Last disappointing thing is,
we didn't get a chance to immerse ourselves in the water ):
There were slides and stuff but we didn't get to try them ):

Lunch was next!
We travelled to 'Xiao Mui Tou' to have lunch
and i was impressed!
There were like 7 dishes of food and they taste pretty good!

We travelled to the Kota Tinggi Rainforest Resort next.
I think the resort is really cool!
Almost everything is made of wood and there's so many birds around!
It looks really rustic and laidback!
Our rooms are in small blocks of houses but it was kinda smelly with wood smell and the lighting was really v low!
Sharon shitted in it and the whole room stank with her smell!
Heard some girls screaming in other rooms where bugs invaded the room!
lucky ours dont hav :P

Anyway, we went swimming and it was fun!
Almost all the girls in the trip were pushed/persuaded into the water!
Even Mrs koh was very on and came in too!
Played some water choochoo train
which started out with me jumping on sharon's back
and Hweeling on mine,
then suddenly everyone's part of the train!
LOL, it was fun!

Went for river study.
Was once again disappointed at the size of it.
Learnt how to measure the river velocity using ping pong ball.
Saw some parts of the water
have pretty purplish colour!

Dinner at the resort was very irritating!
So many flies surrounded our table
and tried to attack our food!
Was very tiring keeping them at bay and trying to eat our dinner.
The food was pretty good though.

After reflections, played taidi in my room and it was very fun! Watched a
movie before going to bed.

DAY 2
Went for tor studies early in the morning with Mr Ng.
Went up to the rock and took pictures.
The scenery is quite nice from the top of the rock (:

Then it was pack up to leave the resort
and a very very long time in the bus.

The bus trip to Swiss Garden Resort was about 4 hours long
and i feel like vomitting

Luckily, I was given a front seat
and
slept most of the way there.

Swiss Garden Resort was very nice!
Unlike the previous resort which was laidback,
this resort looked like a 5-star hotel!
The room was well equipped and nice too (:
Due to the dissappearance of a landform we were supposed to visit,
we had a lot of free time!

Went to the nearby beach and it was certainly much better than those in Singapore.
The sand was very sofe and clean while the sky there was shining with a beautiful assortment of faint colour.
Saw people flying kite,
riding horse
and playing beach volley/soccer.
Really wanted to try horse riding and motorcar riding
but all unavailable ):
Tried to pick seashells,
but they're just as small as those back home!
Saw alot of hermit crabs though
and they creeped jamie and sharon out!
Nothing to do at the beach so jamie and I tried to take pictures!
The images we had in mind were those beautiful MTV scenes where the guy and girl
kick the seawater and foam fly prettily around.
we tried that but not only did we get ourselves wet, the pictures turn out like i was bullying jamie..
Tried running with Kaixian to get images of us happily running and our hair flying.
The picture turned out very unglam once again
as the photographer was too lazy to run alongside us..

As Jamie and I were wet, we had to go back to our rooms to change and that
got the whole bus waiting.
Sorry >_<
Went to some batik shop and there's nothing to buy there
as they're too expensive!
Went for seafood dinner
but the place was not only infested with insects,
there was no air-con!
The food was similar to chinese restaurant's
and there was not much seafood inside.
Food was not quite very nice.

when we came back,
we all decide to buy a cake each
cos cakes r at half px after 8pm!!
so cheap!
but we nvr expect everyone 2 also wna buy!
hadta Q for so long lor!
i was so frustrated wif waitin!
lucky fang willing to help me buy
lol, we lucked out
cos e person tot we bought only 1 cake!
we bought 2 actually
lol, so we only pay 1buck lik tt for our cheese cake!

DAY 3
Went to the Gua Charas Karst landform!
Climbed many steps to finally get to the top!
I was expecting steeper and thinner karst landforms like those in China.
Saw all the stalactites and stalagmites in the notes and took many pictures.
Went to another cave lower down
and it was pretty dark inside!
Mr Ng showed us the bats dwelling the cave
and they were so small!
Flying blindly around like little brown birds!
I actually feel bad for disturbing their sleep!
Anyway, i prayed to the sleeping Buddha inside the cave for good luck in A levels.

Then it was all the way home!
6 hours in the bus!
Played taidi and watched
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
I'm so glad the bus has television!

went to sch n got up bus
sat wif helen
but she didn't seem eager to tok
so after lik half an hr silent bus ride
finally reached JALAN BEHTARA campsite
it's e campsite i went when sec3!

we settled in, put our bags n clean the toilet blah

then played ice-breaker games
the hold hand game which we nd to untangle ourselves was pretty fun
but after 15mins (12+3mins)
we still cldn't untangle n it was our 2nd try *first 2 hands was holding 1 which was wrong*
then played some swing game
it was fun swinging!!!

then we had belay sch
it was raining, so kinda worried cant do high E
learn belay which had quite many procedures

rain stopped
and went for high E
1st - tyre and log
lol, i was stuck at e tyre for quite some time
my belay rope tangle wif the tyre's
n i was super tired from trying to turn but not turning at all X(

2nd - vertical challenge
started raining again!! toopid rain!
i was e belayer for kaiying
she had bad experience once so she was really scared
lol, she paired up wif hongqing
who was quite nice trying to b funny n help KY feel better

but overall they still took quite a long time trying to get up to e top rack
so me lik belay in the rain for 40mins

this wk, the first day, monday
already got back all my results.
i always knew my previous life was ended on a monday
or maybe i stepped over a black cat on a monday?
or i walked beneath a ladder on a monday?
anyway,
they all lead to bad luck for the mondays in this life..

needless to say,
my results are bullshit.
even the most desperate scholar wld not wan to hold, no! mayb even look at my results!
they might think the bad grades will rub off on them ):

firstly, sg has a highly limited stock of GOOD-looking guys *n i'm not pinning my hopes on shuai guys, which is one notch higher than good-looking*
secondly, GOOD-looking guys are already seduced aways by GOOD looking chio bus
thirdly, even in those dramas in which the supposedly ugly female lead (but actually is average in sg) they dont hav any rumours of the guy really having a thing for the girl.
